Dayton Silverbacks Battle the Sting in Saginaw for 2012 CIFL Title

The 2012 CIFL season is drawing to a close and this season a new CIFL champion will be crowned as the league's two time defending champion, the Cincinnati Commandos, did not compete in the CIFL in 2012. This season, the team that wins it all could be the former traveling team for the league, the Dayton Silverbacks. The Silverbacks have improved steadily the past few seasons and have earned the right to compete in the CIFL title game both this season and last. The Silverbacks are a very hard team to cheer against for many CIFL fans as they have been through more than plenty while being member of the league, primarily playing year after year as a team with no home football field. But that has changed and the Silverbacks have risen to the top of the CIFL heap while finally enjoying the comforts and benefits of actually playing a few home football games in Ohio.

All bets are off on this one as the Sting have returned to the CIFL in 2012 to crash the Dayton championship party. While the Sting did take a few year hiatus from the CIFL, they are back and out out for blood this season, piling up 8 straight wins against 0 loses to secure a spot in the title game.

The last time the Sting competed in the CIFL they defeated the Kalamazoo Xplosion in Kalamazoo to win the Continental Indoor Football League title, and this season they appear poised to compete hard for the championship hardware. The Silverbacks have always played with a huge amount of heart, and soon it will be time to see if Dayton actually has the weapons to compete for the title with undefeated Sting. The CIFL championship game between the Saginaw Sting and the Dayton Silverbacks will be played in Saginaw, at Draper Auto Field, on June 2nd, 2012.

Miami Valley Cruises Past the Cardinals in CIFL Action

Former Raptor Wogomon Not Enough as Chicago Falls to Marion at the Odeum 19-14

Brandon Wogomon breaks into the open field but Chicago would eventually fall to the Mayhem 19-14.

Former Rock River Raptor all purpose player Brandon Wogomon was not enough for the Cardinals as Marion rolled into Villa Park and created a bit too much Mayhem for Chicago inside the friendly confines of the Odeum. Wisconsin 38 Miami Valley 32 but Razor is Knocked Out for CIFL Season!

Razor holds the ball too long and ends up out for the season with a busted collar bone on this Silverback sack for a safety.

Wisconsin QB Razor R. was knocked out of this April 04, 2010 game early, but the Wolfpack would hang ion to win this very close CIFL tilt in Madison, Wisconsin anyway.
